Earth Day Beach Cleanup

Team elemental & Community

Would you believe we filled 14 trash bags with a 13 gallon capacity in just 1-hour?

Sadly, it’s true. We didn’t have to venture very far along the beach to do that either.

Long Beach, CA sits between the San Gabriel River on the South, and on the North - the Los Angeles River, the Port of Long Beach, and Port of Los Angeles. A 2.2 mile breakwater is just beyond the shore acting like a small barrier preventing this waste from drifting farther out to sea

We found things you should never find on the sand - syringes, bleach bottles, and cans of flammable liquid among typical household and to-go items that many of us use every day

It’s a reminder that our trash doesn’t disappear. That we can all make better choices about what we buy, and what we do with it after we’re done

Thank you to everyone who made it out to clean-up our beach 🙏

Every day is Earth Day 🌎
